Debbie twisted and twisted my arm until I finally gave in and we had some interior painting done! We hired it out due to the height of the ceilings in our living room which were around 20 feet or so. If you have read my previous posts, my tendency to fall off things and injure myself made this a no-go proposition. They also did the dining room and kitchen as well. Debbie had previously painted the downstairs bath closet in the darker paint you see in the following pictures. We also updated the lighting while we were at it. We changed the wall color from a yellow to a creamy off white and the accents from gold to a dark urban bronze. Have a look below. We think it turned out quite awesome!!
The process of moving here and living here full time has begun. Up until now, our retirement home has been basically a weekend get away once or twice a month. We have moved furniture from our old Crestview home up here to make it livable and comfortable, but never really made it our own! Today marks the beginning of just that! We had our new bedroom set delivered and built! The pictures don’t really do it justice, but believe me, it looks beautiful. Of course there is more decorating to be done, but the bones are done! Soon another room will be done! Stay tuned!
Here are Alex and his wife Mo standing in front of their brand new home they just closed on and moved into! It is an exciting time for the both of them and a very smart move. In this time of recession and trying times economically, it is a great time for new buyers to get into the real estate market and they jumped when they found this buy in Gig Harbor. Not only are they now new young homeowners, but have a very nice location as Gig Harbor is very nice. We cruise there quite frequently on our boat. Not bad for a very young couple just starting out in life. Alex’s job seems to be secure for the foreseeable future but Mo had a temporary bump. She is a first year teacher and got riffed because of the State budget cuts. The Federal stimulus money came through and she was rehired for this coming school year at least for one more year which is great news. Hopefully she will stay on beyond the next year. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for them. At any rate, we figure they bought at the very bottom and this will be a good investment for them. They are paying just slightly more than they were paying for rent and their money is now working for them for the future!
